Here is a picture showing the installation of the decals while the engine was out of the car. All the original brackets, clamps, nuts, bolts and screws were cleaned in a tumbler, acid dipped and then re-plated in the original Cadmium 1 plating. The Oil filter canister and coil were cleaned and painted by hand.

Powder coating was used on the black painted parts. These were media blasted and then painted with the exception of the oil filler can. The oil filler was cleaned by hand so that it could not get contaminants inside. Great care was taken in selection of the black color for this work. There are many different appearances of black powder coat paint. This one was found to be a very very close match to the original black paint that was still on the engine.
The fan shroud was handled differently. It was media blasted to remove all the original paint and the rust that forms on the inside of the shroud. It was then very carefully cleaned, and painted (not powder coated) in the original color. Before the original paint was removed, a section was painted using the new paint to make sure the new paint matched the original.

I purchased an NOS (new old stock) muffler and below is a picture after I had it sand blasted to remove the original paint (which was not perfect anymore) and to get rid of light surface rust. Second shot shows the painted result. Special high temperature paint was used that matches the original color of the muffler.
